One loving option for
an unplanned pregnancy is to make an adoption plan for your
baby. You may say that you could never give your child away.
However, some mothers feel that they are making a plan for their
child’s future that has hope and more opportunities than they
could provide at birth. Some mothers feel that they are
giving the gift of life by
completing another family who cannot have children of their
own. Carrying a baby to term and then placing the baby for
adoption could make what appears to be “an accident” a huge
blessing for others. You can also CHOOSE a type of adoption: Closed or confidential – describes adoption where only
non-identifying social and medical information is exchanged
between parties to an adoption through the agency or
intermediary. There is no direct, ongoing relationship between
the birthparents and adoptive parents. Semi-open –involves the exchange of information and contact
between adoptive parents and biological parents. Pictures and
letters can be exchanged and contact is continued by both sets
of parents. Open – Both sets of parents have established a direct,
ongoing relationship. You could see your child after birth and
have a relationship with him/her. We offer information on all the adoption options available to
you and referrals to various adoption agencies. We also offer
referrals to maternity homes if you have this need during your
pregnancy.
